I played the #Marathon "server slam" for exactly twenty five minutes. i.e. as long as it took to finish the tutorial mission. I never tried loading into a real mission. Why?

I couldn't figure out what the fuck I was supposed to be doing nearly all the time; and I couldn't READ THE TEXT; icons were too similar; the color choices, while aesthetically pleasing, made some shit really hard to discern details.

Bungie ask Marathon critics to delay "full reviews" till the release of an endgame zone, and I am wistfully reminded of Vault of Glass

Bungie suggest that Marathon reviewers "hold your full review and impressions until you play Cryo Archive, Marathon's pinnacle endgame zone and experience".

I love the art style; as though Mirrors Edge and CP2077 had a baby and Im all here for neon cyber future color palettes. While perhaps not as fluid as I've grown used to in #arcraiders or #titanfall / #apexlegends , the gameplay seemed to be alright.

Again, I just couldn't read anything on the screen. :(

And telling reviewers "wait wait wait, we're not quite done".. hey, I get it. "Agile" and all, but if you're saying that your game isn't complete without <Killer Feature> and

you launch WITHOUT <Killer Feature> anyway, well that's just saying to customers "here, take our half assed unfinished shit and like it. Give us money because we're #Bungie!" - that doesn't sit well with me.

I see #Marathon rocking its own junk on a bollard and dissappearing in a month or two just like #highguard or #concord.

Meanwhile I have six hundred hours in #ArcRaiders after its launch 4 months ago and its still fresh.

@tezoatlipoca I meanwhile have never played Marathon because:

1. I am salty at Bungie for doing Myth dirty.
2. I don't want a multiplayer extractions shooter, I want Marathon.

@PatrickoftheG well, yes, that too, the original Marathons had nothing to do with extraction shooters.

@tezoatlipoca It felt like such a monkey paw curse to get Marathon back after all this time, only for it to be this instead of Marathon.
