@NovemDecimal You used to be able to ping a community and your toot would be formatted like a new thread there. But it stopped working due to a clash in settings between Masto and Lemmy, I'm honestly not sure whether it works again now or not.
If you wanted to test it the format was:
First line of your toot (will be the thread title)
Rest of your toot is the post body so make sure to start a new paragraph after the title.
[tag the community here (no other tags)]
@NovemDecimal If that has been fixed now, you can also reply to a post from a Lemmy community and it just turns into a comment in the thread from their pov.
I can attest that replying here to a Lemmy post federates correctly back as a comment on the original thread.

Vayl Larkin (they/them)@NovemDecimal I've been a lifelong doodler without instruction, but I've in the past months been learning Blender, texture design, and other digital 3d modeling tools. I'd say I'm still a novice, though I'm happy with what I've been making. Also Very self-taught hehe.
clewWhat a great idea! I see people’s beginner/practice/learning art posted every so often. I enjoy it. There doesn’t seem to be a common hashtag though. YET. Give it a go!

You can follow the #NewHere and #Introduction hashtags, and go to https://sunny.garden/directory?order=new to see new people on your instance :) (and then change it to 'from known fediverse' to see new people everywhere)
