I need a password manager. Needs to work on #Debian #Linux, #Firefox, #Chrome, #Android, #Windows, sync between systems.

Work suggests #KeyPassXC or #Bitwarden, any thoughts?

@drajt can’t go wrong with either tbh. Bitwarden would be more straightforward to setup.
@drajt can't go wrong with either. plus, maybe, ProtonPass
@drajt I use NordPass. Plugins for the browsers and desktop clients on #linux and #Windows Don't really use the Windows client that much to be honest as I prefer GNU/Linux outside of work. The Android App is quite reliable. The sync between them all is flawless.

@drajt

I've used Bitwarden for many years. No complaints, web app, desktop app, and browser app works great for me.

@drajt

If you can run a webserver somewhere reliable, run Vaultwarden, the open-source implementation of Bitwarden.

If that's not an option for you, keepassxc with Syncthing or similar to keep the database available everywhere you need it.

@drajt I use Bitwarden across various WIndows and Android. Pain free. Work and Perso verions. Not felt the need to change
@drajt Hello
I'd recommend Keepass XC. It's open source, tracker free. I use it on OS-X, Linux Mint, and Android. Works well.
On Android, it's called KeepassDX, in fact.
@drajt Bitwarden is secure, easy to use, supports sync and has features that others don't like emergency access. There is a free plan as well as the option to host it yourself.
@drajt used to use keepassxc with syncthing, but moved to bitwarden for simpler syncing (esp with work laptop).
@drajt I use valtwarden it is a self hosted password manager that works with bitwarden

@drajt

I like Bitwarden, but I'm transitioning to KeePass. I like that I control my passwords without having to rely on another company and there are some addons that let you sync data yourself.

@drajt I use Vaultwarden, which is a Bitwarden reimplementation and compatible with the official Bitwarden clients, that I self-host. Not sure on your specific requirements around hosting
