Thinking of making a card set. This’s the favourite design for my sons. #drawing #boardgame #cardgame #illustration

(Number and symbols are just placeholders)

Okay. First colour (spades) is finished. Let’s go to the next. Hearts I think. (Still the number and Color on this pictures are placeholders) #cardgame #boardgame #spades #knight #drawing #illustration
3 colours are done. Diamonds ♦️ is next. A and Joker still missing. Oh and the backside of the cards. #cardgame #illustration #boardgame need to find a printing service next. Maybe a mini #kickstarter for the production. Hm. 🤔 pricing will be difficult
All colours are finished. A, joker and backside is ready to go. Let’s find a good way for the production. #cardgame #boardgame #illustration
My jokers are wizards #cardgame #boardgame #illustration
I ordered two test prints at a POD service. I have to say. I like what I see 😁 🃏♠️❤️♣️♦️#cardgame #boardgame #illustration
@LeanderZeichnet that was quick
@iain the POD service is fast. The printing quality is good and the cards are good to shuffle. But they smell terrible XD but I wanted a testprint. I could everyone order an edition there but it would cost 25€ + and the smell … oh boy XD. I want to make a package design too. But I need to think about the production a bit more.
@LeanderZeichnet Proper Noggin the Nog vibes, but grown up. Love it!
@janeishly 😁 you have to help me out. Noggin the Nog vibes?
Noggin the Nog - Wikipedia

@LeanderZeichnet You have to watch an episode, it's amazingly atmospheric
@janeishly now I have to 😁 thanks for the tip

@LeanderZeichnet The style is quite nice, but the knave (11) is normally the servant to a Knight (this "10" with 7 placeholder shield marks). Literally a shield bearer and arse-wiper.

If you're going for a military theme, the 2nd & 3rd ranks of a phalanx had progressively longer spears, so the enemy faced a vertical wall of pointy bits. 3 cards there? Up to 6, historically.

Don't forget the cavalry (armoured vehicles) and artillery ("Romell? Gunner Who?" - Spike Milligan's autobiog).

@LeanderZeichnet I am, of course, drawing a parallel with the military ranks on a chess board (6 ranks, for 13 (14) card faces).
Which may not have been your design idea.
@WellsiteGeo hehe no. The number and symbols is just a placeholder to know how much space I need in the motive.
