When recovering from surgery, here are some ideas for how to take care of yourself:

1. Get lots of rest. Your body is rebuilding!

2. Now is the perfect time to catch up on that book series you've been meaning to read.

3. Hydrate well and eat easy to digest food. Eat smaller meals more often. Maybe keep a snack bag by the couch/bed.

4. KNIT SHRIMP.

MORE SHRIMPS.
@munificent
I'm surprised someone hasn't gobbled them up yet. Great with a butter-based sauce.

@munificent Aww, look at their little faces! 😍

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

@munificent These are great! Is there a pattern somewhere? I suspect my daughter would be all over this. (Adult, but all about critters and environment, and crafts)
@tim_lavoie Yes! The pattern is https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/laprawnda-the-shrimp. I'm knitting them using Malabrigo Rios yarn in the Belinda colorway.

Knit in Cascade Sunseeker, LaPrawnda is a sparkly little shrimp who makes a nice guard for your stash, a gift for a friend, or a welcome addition to a knitted seafood salad.

@munificent @tim_lavoie mastodon is about to have a bit of a knitted prawn frenzy! You chose the perfect yarn.
@munificent Awesome, thanks! Oh, and feel better soon!
@munificent It's shrimple really
@munificent And perfect 'shrimp coloured' yarn! Awesome!
@ankedesign yeah, I'm really pleased with how the yarn looks.
@munificent these are brilliant!

#PostOfTheWeek (season 3):
Crocheting a shrimp typically involves creating an amigurumi body using a magic ring, single crochets, increases, and decreases, often worked in continuous rounds. The body is usually stuffed and curved, with a tail created by chaining and decreasing, or by working stitches directly onto the body.
@munificent
Specific Techniques:
Curving: To create a shrimp shape, sew or stitch the tail end to the middle of the body.
Color Changes: Use white and orange/pink yarn to create a more realistic, cooked appearance.
Tempura Style: For a tempura shrimp, use thicker yarn and the alpine stitch to simulate the texture.
@munificent My pal @bnut suggested you make them a little tempura-like coat!
@munificent @d I just bought your book too, I heard good things! I hadn't seen on-demand printing before, nifty.
@d @bnut that would be adorable but my daughter who strongly prefers shrimp to be alive would alas not be amused.
@munificent @d I was thinking it may not be the right sentiment, haha
@munificent @bnut Just leave the tempura bit out, but we'll know. We'll know.
@munificent The pattern public, or were these self drafter?
