@the Apologies, in hindsight on a smaller view it's obvious where the lumps are - my brain couldn't interpret the shadow of the body on the right as anything but an interrupted taped wire of some kind. Those are definitely some odd shapes and the squareness would lead me to think it's projecting the fur straight off the body with a sharp protrusion in the skin. A really bad botfly situation might look a bit like that but it's hard to tell.

@the Puts me in mind of a papilloma infection / outbreak. Rabbit papilloma often creates that squared off outline, but deer growths are supposed to be more rounded.

If you do look that up, be ready for deer having a very not good time.

Not trying to dox you, but there is a plague of this stuff hitting deer from Wyoming to Ohio right now. Some of those states are asking for reports about these deer so they can track/contain the outbreak.
