A court record reviewed by 404 Media shows privacy-focused email provider Proton Mail handed over payment data related to a Stop Cop City email account to the Swiss government, which handed it to the FBI.

For me it’s less against the fact that Proton handed out data, and more about the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) and how authorities of countries help each other out. Even if one of them is acting against an open and free society.
