# Nixie, Now Combustible!

We're making the first "proper" release of Nixie, our open-source, self-hostable, minimal visit-counter for your websites :)

Since we first posted about it,
@nelson has added a whole histogram! You can view now over time how your views increase! Number go up!!!

Nelson also wrote a blogpost about the making of Nixie, the challenges he faced during it, and its design decisions, be sure to check it out!

@the @nelson cool as fuck i should set this up on my site
@strongsand @the it's super easy! the nixie website itself comes with a little button creator thing

@the @nelson i really like this :3

im gonna be honest tho im still not entirely sure if it just entirely works just having it on my site like that or if i actually gotta do the self-hosted component, so i think a bit of clarification on that would be nice (i added it to my site to try and answer this, but until some users come to my site idk)

i think a nixie button should also be added to the main starlight network page, just to show it off :3

@pquirrel @the I will add this immediately.

@the @nelson this is cool, I like it, and if I ever stop procrastinating and update my site again, I will use it
@the @nelson this shit is so much better than what fucking blowfish was doing, where they just used firebase with absolutely zero restrictions on what could be written to it lmfao
Welcome to Blowfish! :tada:
