"As planning for a potential strike in #Iran was underway, #Maven, powered by #Claude, suggested hundreds of targets, issued precise location coordinates, and prioritized those targets according to importance, said two of the people. The pairing of Maven and Claude has created a tool that is speeding the pace of the campaign, reducing Iran’s ability to counterstrike and turning weeks-long battle planning into real-time operations, said one of the people. The #AItools also evaluate a strike after it is initiated, the person said." [gift link]

High #hubris uses #AI to hit children's school — Far more catastrophic than the 2008 #financial meltdown caused by indiscriminate use of #mathematical modeling of #creditDefaultSwaps.

@eliasulrich
Odd that Ai is so effective in this one very specific use case, where in all other applications it falls down due to inability to contextualise information properly as rolling dice and pattern matching only gets you so far.

In short this reads like an a puff piece for ai written to justify the recent Hegseth stance.

@calcius

"The Feb. 28 school strike in Minab, which killed dozens, including children, appears to have been part of an attack on an adjacent naval base in southern Iran, where officials said U.S. forces were operating.

The total death toll has yet to be independently confirmed, but Iranian health officials and state media said the strike had killed at least 175 people, many of them children, at the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school." [gift link]
