Call-out for some technical guidance.

My blog is harmony-seeker.com and I would love readers to be able to subscribe and receive an email whenever I publish a new post. At the moment I do not know how to set this up.

If anyone here has experience adding email subscriptions to a blog, I would really appreciate your advice. Ideally I’m looking for something straightforward to manage and screen-reader accessible. I'm using WordPress.

If you have suggestions, please reply or message me.

@HarmonthSeeker You may need to find a SMTP service like Mailgun.

@HarmonthSeeker, if you don’t need anything fancy and the dependency isn’t mission-critical, Feedrabbit is a no-cost low-tech option.

See https://feedrabbit.com/subscriptions/new?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmeiert.com%2Ffeed%2F as an example of how I link them for people to get email notifications for new posts, as per the site’s feed.

Follow your favorite blogs, news sites and comics by email. No apps to install, no extra sites to visit, your email is never shared, you are in control.

@j9t Thank you. This looks good.
@HarmonthSeeker if you want something a bit more powerful, commercial mailing list providers integrate well with Wordpress. For example, with Buttondown you copy a small piece of code into a custom html block, which gives your site a ‘subscribe’ button. https://docs.buttondown.com/wordpress

Using custom HTML blocks you can easily add your Buttondown subscriber form to your WordPress site.

Listmonk works — I self-host it via Pikapods and the embed form drops into WordPress without issues. It's one config screen and you own everything: the list, the data, the sending. Worth the extra 15 minutes of setup over Jetpack.
