Y'all, I'm regretting hand sewing this patch to avoid sewing through the lining. What was I thinking? #coffeeneuring2025 #sewing

Pros
- bragging rights
- the lining only I'll ever see will continue to look swag as hell

Cons
- my poor fingers
- it's got iron-on patch glue on the back
- my poor fingers
- I'm doing it right against a seam like an idiot
- my poor fingers
- oh my god the crown
- my poor fingers

@edd Once you're done, you will have no doubts you did it the right way. Looking good, BTW!
@sbourne Oh for sure. I do wish I had a thimble to help force the needle through, though. But I love to do things the hardest way possible, especially if it's the "right" way to do it.
@edd @sbourne Oof. Get yourself a thimble 😅🙈
@bammerlaan @sbourne On the docket for today while I'm at the fabric store for another project! Probably could've made a quick thimble ring with some brass sheet, too, but there's only so much daylight and hammering while kids are asleep isn't an option.
@edd @sbourne I can recommend one of these by Prym. They have an XL version, which is convenient. I recently learned it goes on the middle finger and most thimbles are a bit too small for men's hands.

@bammerlaan @sbourne Ooh interesting. I have experienced many thimbles to be a touch small, and I think my fingers are slender to normal for my slightly above average height.

I was planning to go middle finger: I never really understood thimbles because you really need the pad of your thumb to grip until it dawned on me that it wasn't (probably, hopefully) named after the thumb.
