Here for my first day in Lisbon. Love this city already! So much to see, fantastic food, but my favorite part so far is how each and every random side street completely oozes personality. Walkable in the best way (though my legs are starting to hurt)

Another side street from day 2 of my Lisbon trip

Wasn't in Lisbon much during day 3 so here is a street view I snapped in Figueira da Foz

Almost forgot to post a day 4 side street photo from my Lisbon trip, getting so immersed in this place. I don't want to go home...

Day 5 of the Lisbon trip has been most excellent. I went to nearby Sintra for a day trip, walked the palace grounds and immersed myself in some calm natural beauty in the surrounding area.

Later on, I met up with a couple of local fedi friends in central Lisbon for some quality conversation. I don't think I could ever get tired of being in this country

Day 6 of my Lisbon trip is in the books and I've got an early flight home tomorrow morning. It's been a magical experience that I didn't realize how badly I needed. I've felt more at peace here with each passing day and I hope I can continue to build upon this feeling as normal day-to-day goings on resume across the Atlantic.

Thank you to all my Portuguese fediverse comrades for making me feel at home here, I'll be back before you know it!

@rootcompute Going back through this thread those are some great pictures. It looks like an awesome place.

I love the picture with the woods and the old street lamp. That one looks intriguing! I hope you didn't have to walk the whole time. Some of those streets/hills look exhausting. 😂

@Judeau Thanks, yeah, so much to do in so little time! It was a very full trip for being a little less than a week long, I loved every minute. Public transit here in Lisbon is incredible, so many options, buuuuut yes walking is a big component of it too and we walked pretty damn far every single day. The uphill parts were definitely trying! I had pains in parts of my legs I didn't even realize could hurt the first couple of days, but I actually feel great by this point
@rootcompute Hope you get to return to Portugal soon
@rootcompute Best of luck on your flight. I didn't get if you'd be visiting any other countries or if you're returning directly to the US?

@mothwaves I'm going straight back to the USA, couldn't afford to take long off work. Plus, I have more ties to this place than anywhere else in Europe with family (and now friends!) living here so it's been worth maximizing that short time in one place.

I'm going to miss Portugal so much, hopefully it doesn't take me 20+ years to return like before 😅

@rootcompute Hope so too! (Sorry I completely missed this notification  )
@rootcompute bom viagem! I hope you aren't hoping to many time zones in this short span and wish you safe travels
