I was recently in a presentation on the "microcredentialing" initiative at my university, and my reaction is just a profound sadness.

I don't think I could imagine a more cynical and commodified model of education if I tried.

I knew that higher education was nothing more that grist for the neoliberal mill but, at least before we were pretending to be interested in the more noble pursuit of liberal education.
