The MNT Reform Next in purple is my "someday" upgrade. It is fully open source, modular, and repairable. It is a machine that actually respects the user instead of fighting them. Plus, that purple is beautiful. I have respect for MNT Research for being one of the few ethically sound companies in Tech.

The original #MNTREform was my favorite, because of the actual trackball.

The CHONK factor, and the trackball reminded me so much of my [beloved 1997 laptop]

Trackball users usually get forgotten pretty quickly, it sucks. Are you familiar with @ploopy trackballs? They're fully open source and run on QMK/VIA. I am thinking of buying their mouse.

@terminaltilt @ploopy

Those look super neat, but I actually don't like trackballs that much on the desk, but only on laptops.

On a desk, I'd much rather have a mouse. But a trackball is the best option for a laptop, I find.

@terminaltilt
It's about time that I took the Pocket Reform CAD files and expanded them into a case for an ITX machine, complete with a detachable keyboard.
Not sure if I should call it "Tabernacle" or "Punkbook Pro".

(maybe they're cagey about directly catering to the Intel/AMD kingdom, maybe PC cases simply aren't eligible for NLnet grants)
@terminaltilt I'm eagerly awaiting my classic reform now. The chonk is lovely

@Muppensish

Very nice! There is something really nice about having a device well built and not cutting corners just to make it slimmer or cheaper.
