An article about Brian Deer’s investigation into Andrew Wakefield’s claim that the MMR vaccine caused autism. Included were his discoveries that Wakefield had not disclosed that:

* he was paid £435,000 from lawyers suing vaccine manufacturers
* he had patented plans for a rival vaccine (this vaccine never amounted to anything)
* he had recruited of children through litigation networks
* he had misrepresented clinical timelines in patient records

I do wonder how many tens of thousands of people Wakefield has killed.

Deer spoke here in London (in a dark pub, hence the terrible quality)

Also Deer likes suing people himself, doesn't like being told he's wrong about anything and is overall not a very nice man.

@forresttanaka His studies were also laughably and scientifically too small (cohorts of 10-12 children, some of whom already exhibited symptoms of ASD), and he also bribed kids in order to perform lumbar puncture samples on them, sometimes without parental consent. Terrible doctoring all the way down.

These people are picked, supported and financed over campaigns that last decades.

The movement picked the man for a purpose. This is not about a disease with a 1% case fatality rate, autism or tens of thousands of people getting killed.

This is about Billions with a B.

It's about bio-terrorism.

@forresttanaka I heard he had moved to USA, but I forget which state. I do remember a doctor I trust telling me the area around where he moved to became significantly sicker than the rest of the state.
