Oh boy, someone asked r/cscareerquestions if they should put @buttplugio work on their resume.

@buttplugio I can only speak from the American perspective (i.e. with Weltschmerz), but I find it endlessly frustrating that nobody would bat an eye at seeing Meta or Palantir or Raytheon on a résumé, but God forbid you program a sex toy.

@theorangetheme @buttplugio

I can't get to the discussion due to the age gate (and I am *not* trusting Reddit or any USA corporate with my official ID), but maybe you could just put it down as "working on specialist embedded systems", you don't need to tell potential employers exactly *where* they were embedded 😁

@buttplugio if it hits HR too hard, mabe it isn't the right fit :D
@buttplugio I might be weird in thinking that I would be interested in the candidate if it's a rust and embedded job. Feel like the project is good xp (also somewhat signals the person plays nice with others)
@buttplugio @buttplugio great response and very good advice.

@buttplugio

Wow, people have some really odd takes there.

Very few questioning whether anybody would want to work somewhere that doesn't judge it on the quality of the work.

@Fuzz_Ra It's a bunch of kids postulating about what they think managers want.

@buttplugio

Well, management are likely to be older and people have never been keen on sexual pleasure until . . . Oh, about seventeen years ago. ;p
