CBP Tapped Into the Online Advertising Ecosystem To Track Peoples’ Movements
An internal DHS document obtained by 404 Media shows for the first time CBP used location data sourced from the online advertising industry to track phone locations. ICE has bought access to similar tools.
@crozilla I'd recommend AdNauseam which is based on uBlock Origin. But it also simulates a click. My installation alone has caused estimated costs of $320 during the last few weeks.
@crozilla I've said it before and I'll say it again. An ad blocker is an essential piece of software. If you're not using one, you're not only putting yourself in danger, you're putting ME in danger.
@crozilla i don't think uBlock origin is going to stop this. AFAIK this type of location data comes from apps which ask their user for location data and then sell it to advertisers, think more pokémon go or grindr than banner ads in firefox.
