For one of my clients I created a report that showed how many units of inventory don't get shared with a trading partner due to choices by the sales team. On one hand, the sales team is looking to sell whatever is available. On the other, they failed to instruct their product placement managers that that is what they wanted. So of course they come to me, the tech guy, to fix it. But I'm just a tech guy. And the fix isn't tech. It's interdepartmental communication.
