When someone misgenders me, I'm usually painfully aware of it. Today a colleague introduced me to someone. When it was my turn to talk, I realized I had no idea whether she used any pronouns when referring to me. To be on the safe side, I added my pronouns, to which she replied giddily "and I got them right!" Turns out that she using they for me went undetected by my brain, unlike erronous he.
Ciara 💖@DimestoreDiamond I wonder are we more likely to notice someone using the wrong pronouns than the right ones? I suspect this might be true for me too but wouldn’t want to generalise
