Need a distraction? Yeah you do. Go ahead and pick one for me.
#stegosaurus forever but also I want to fly on a #pterodactyl.
#dinosaurs
@ErickaSimone Brachiosaurus cuz I was spellbound by Jurassic Park when it came out. Parasaurlophus cuz I like the funky head gear.
@HappyCrow13 oh yeah that intro brachiosaurus scene is hardcore. lol.
@ErickaSimone its always gotta be Stegosaurus for me, even moreso since I learned the spiky tail didn't have a name until the Farside coined one for it ("Thagomizer")
@knova oh this is important moments in Dino history.

@knova @ErickaSimone

poor old Thag!

Love steggies but my heart belongs to Tricerotops.

@Thebratdragon @knova @ErickaSimone
which isn't even on there, though two things which are not dinosaurs are.
(and yes I am going to be That Guy).
@duckwhistle @Thebratdragon @ErickaSimone Yeah didn’t want to split hairs over the Pterodactyl because I want to be fun at parties. Not sure what the other non-dinosaur is tho
@duckwhistle @Thebratdragon @knova only time you can be a reply guy. lol.
@ErickaSimone I've always liked the Ankliosaurus because I made a clay model of it when I was in grammar school and it got fired in a clay oven and my mother kept in on her knickknack shelf for the rest of her life. Don't know what happened to it after she passed though.
@jredlund omg. So adorable. Sounds like you had the best mom.
@ErickaSimone Where is my Trixie?🧐

@ErickaSimone

Imma go iguanadon, because it doesn’t look anything like an iguana and that makes me smile

@ErickaSimone
I have to go velociraptor. Clever girl.
@sollat hahah. What a boss way to die.
@ErickaSimone well, stegosaurus obviously!
@ErickaSimone @GhostOnTheHalfShell I’m a fan of all dinosaurs so epically long they needed a butt-brain.
@mivox @GhostOnTheHalfShell wait. This happened? lol.

@ErickaSimone @GhostOnTheHalfShell I am EXTREMELY disappointed to report that when I happily ran off to find a citation, I found exactly the opposite…

The Double Dinosaur Brain Myth

Contrary to a popular myth, dinosaurs didn't have butt brains

Smithsonian Magazine
@konosocio @ErickaSimone @GhostOnTheHalfShell I’m at least tickled they put “butt brain” in the sub-head. That’s my little consolation prize.
@ErickaSimone
Ride or die with the Iguanodone!
I said it.
@geos well definitely not die because he’s still technically here. lmaooo
@ErickaSimone Not seeing it here, but my vote is forever triceratops.
@ErickaSimone I like those 2 also, but in the other order, because I'd rather be up in the air where the big ones with sharp teeth can't bite me.
@ErickaSimone brontosaurus, every time 😍
@kinsale42 @[email protected] This was a surprise to me. I was expecting apatosaurus. 🙂
@ErickaSimone umm...triceratops, no stegosaurus, wait diplodocus!
@970uts1d3 youre allowed multiple choices!
@ErickaSimone wait, what? I want them all then 🤣
@ErickaSimone Pachycephalosaurus ftw! Though it’s not on the list.
@ErickaSimone it's gotta be the T-Rex. Always was. So intimidating, while still having these two little useless arms. I've stood next to a T-Rex skull and it's terrifying to think that this gigantic chicken could and would swallow me whole. 😬
@irgndsondepp @ErickaSimone I saw a cast of an allosaurus skull in Utah and thought the same. And that's not nearly as big as a T Rex. My mind can't help but think of how quick I'd be chomped up. 😬😨
@fylgja totally. Just last weekend I saw a complete upright Allosaurus skeleton at a museum in Basel and that is terrifying enough. 😨
@ErickaSimone
@ErickaSimone Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus and Ankylosaurus! Thank you for this 🥹🫶 Everyone needs at least one favorite dinosaur.
@ErickaSimone fun fact, #pterodactyl are not actually dinsaurs, but rather reptiles due to a seemingly minor skeletal difference.
@ralann @ErickaSimone
Nevertheless, Robert, pterodactyls are just as extinct as dinosaurs, even if they were reptiles, if I am not mistaken -- which I often am.

@ErickaSimone

Tyrannosaurus. But the best reconstruction I ever saw was when an artist did an illustration of a feathered tyrannosaurus that looked like an eight ton sparrow. A round floofy birb.

@ErickaSimone I'm partial to the raptor, especially after my kids showed me the modern scientific representations of it: basically a turkey with claws and pointy teeth.
@ErickaSimone mosasaurus for me, manatee lover here, give me hot and salty water please :)
@ErickaSimone Ankilosaurus, any day of the week. It’s armour-plated, what more do you want? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@ErickaSimone

I don't see it listed but Ichthyosaurus

@ErickaSimone

I've always liked the stegosaurus because it looks like a pasty.

@ErickaSimone where are you Pachycephalosaurus? 👀
@ErickaSimone brontosaurus for the role one of them played in one of my favourite comics growing up. It was kept as a pet in a cave under Monaco. Locked up with a bronze key which the heros had to keep from getting in the wrong hands.
The brontosaurus did break free, but turned out to be a goofy friend, as did the fish in the picture.
@ErickaSimone I don't have a favorite dinosaur, but I have a least favorite one. A triceratops broke my ankle, true story
@ricci @ErickaSimone that's quite impressive :D
@ricci so, will you tell us the rest of this story..? Pretty please? 😆 @ErickaSimone
@hallvors @ErickaSimone When my kid was young, I was playing tag with them in a dinosaur-themed play area. I executed a flawless vault over a triceratops to escape, but well I guess it wasn't technically flawless because I rolled my ankle so hard that I pulled a ligament off the bone (for the second time)
@ricci I suppose few people alive today can claim to have been injured by a triceratops, so .. congratulations or something? :D
@ErickaSimone
