Iran is not Venezuela. As hurtful as the bombings are, a country can't be seized without a land operation.

There isn't any significant political force that is favorable to the US in Iran.

Unlike Venezuela, Iran is retaliating and now tankers traffic nearby is at risk.

New leaders are going to be in charge and will still be hostile to US and Israel.

But I guess it is much more confortable to pretend that because they killed some imagnary US favorable mollahs.

If there is a plan here, the only one I see is to bring full scale war in the region. But maybe they didn't planned anything. Being imprevisible is Trump's policy.

Now they are telling random lies to justify that the situation is going to be worse than it was but it's not their fault.

Taking wath they are saying on first level is making us missing the points and always being a train late.

Having a plan does not mean it is a good one nor it will work.

It just means that they have goals. Nothing they are saying about it are true.

I agree about what you are saying about Tump personnality but I would add that he found a bunch of profoundly disturbed and narcissist to work with him and many more to follow him in madness.

That's why what they says is not meaningless but it has to be considered has the words of psychotics.

@svenscholz @randahl Regime change? Democracy? Never! They want the whole region to be unstable and at a point of constant chaos. That way the Arab countries can't form an alliance. Why do you think that they don't care about authoritarian regimes in regions without ressources? Why do you think they now want the EU divided? Why do you think they keep South / Middle America on edge? They don't want alliances and partnerships between non-American nations. Also, oil, of course.

It continues to amaze me that there is so little mention of the fact that this act of aggression was clearly more reprehensible then even the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour as well as being a clear violation of the UN treaties? Like, are we all supposed to be feigning an acute nosebleed or temporary insanity something, something as excuses for looking the other way on this? I mean military assassination WHILE being in negotiations? If this flies, everything flies.

If such a heinous attack is just considered par for the course by "the West", then every remaining discussion is about who played the better game in the Game of Thrones. The West can no longer say anything about China, Russia, North Korea, Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS or whoever or whatever. We, "the West" will have no moral standing left whatsoever.

It's like Trump noticed protests and assumed there was some highly organized underground government in Iran just waiting to take over, but there simply isn't. Not to mention that this deal he's trying to pressure Iran into already existed due to years of work from an international coalition during Obama's time, but be torn that up, putting us in this position in the first place.

Exactly this type of action, cutting off Japanese oil, led to Pearl Harbor. Containing Chinese expansion is one thing but cornering them will lead to war.
