1 BMO: It is a #risk-off session as #markets opened in the aftermath of the weekend attacks by #U.S./Israel on #Iran. #Asianmarkets were broadly lower ( #Nikkei -700 pts, or -1.3%, #Hang Seng -2.1%), while #Europe is, so far, down about 2%, led by #airline #stocks. 🧡
2 BMO: On the #energy front, the immediate reaction was no surprise. #WTI opened the Asian session up over 7% to ~$72/bbl & Brent initially +13% to ~$80, even as #OPEC+ said it would increase output by 206K bpd, which was more than expected but still viewed as moderate. 🧡 #markets
3 BMO: Both #oil benchmarks are currently up around 7Β½%. #European #naturalgas prices surged over 20% to €39.40/MWh. There is a flight to the usual safe-havens: the #greenback, the #JPY and #CHF, #gold and #bonds. #markets
