Andy FletcherI was checking which ships are in the Straits of Hormuz and came across the Madina Zulficar (MMSI 419035200). It is registered in India and goes between ports in the Gulf and nearby countries. I'm assuming no AIS spoofing.
It appears to be wooden and has a rudder arrangement common to the older sailing ships in the region. Sur Maritime Museum has a dhow which was built in the city around 1950 and only went out of service a little over 10 years ago. Worth a visit.
