A place where the invisible becomes visible.
場面 (bamen): scene, situation. Two kanji, two ancient ideas colliding. 場 (ba) was never just "place. " In ancient China, it meant sacred ground: earth leveled and purified under a rising sun, where humans met the gods. The kanji still holds that image: earth (土) beneath a colorful rising sun (昜). 面 (men) started as the outline of a human face, the boundary between what's hidden inside and what's shown to the world. 場面 (bamen): literally, the place where something becomes visible.
