Dems Need to Be Advocating for Placing Limits on AI. Now! #ABlueView 🧵1/3

Both the coming tsunami of #AIJobLoss & Hegseth firing Anthropic illustrate the danger of implementing AI without guardrails: without them, we may destroy our economy & allow AI to kill us (respectively).

🧵2/3 Profit Alone Can't Be the Only Guiding Principle

Because AI may SOON be ruinous:

Microsoft AI's CEO: Most white collar "tasks will be fully automated by an AI within the next 12 - 18 months"

Anthropic CEO: "AI could... spike unemployment to 10-20% in the next 1 - 5 years"

🧵3/3 Nor Can We Allow AI to Kill Us

Hegseth is firing Anthropic because he wants no limits placed on his ability to recreate the 1983 War Games movie, where a computer autonomously waged war & killed. Anthropic, understanding AI requires a human to be in such a deadly loop, refused.

@ablueview I have to wonder, given the massive amount of current investment in AI, how it actually works out in terms of $ per productivity... or whatever it is they think they're paying workers for, if "productivity" is now too "woke" a concept for them.
