@syn2cat @gunstick does Syn2Cat ever run any retro coding days or sessions? I upgraded a lot of my IT to Atari 8-bit equipment, it has remained free of malware as none can fit on it :) So it would be good to see if there any fun sessions.

@rodlux @syn2cat we have some young retro enthousiasts. Some activity has happened around C64. We were way more active a long time ago as I pushed the retro stuff. Atari, but the 16bit variant.
Now we moved to a new location, still settling in. Currently no retro stuff has happened yet.

@gunstick @syn2cat My collection is #atari #atari7800 #zxspectrum and #c64. I want to get a few others I used or owned as a kid, but they are more expensive e.g. #Amiga and #atarifalcon030

@rodlux I have both of those. I think the amiga makes more sense as the falcon was cool and all, but too late to get any traction. So it's just an expensive novelty but not really useful.
Amiga you get a nice gaming library.
If you want to keep Atari line and you are into music production, try some basic STE.

@gunstick I am into Music production, but on more recent kit. I have a budget recording setup at home, but probably that is bit much for an Atari. Although the keyboard supports midi.

@rodlux I regularly visit Atari themed demo parties. Some do quite a lot of 8 bit stuff. Others are only 16 bit.
The 8 bit stuff is often quite impressive.
The Atari-MIDI community is not at these. I once came across a facebook group for that.

@gunstick yes I know what they are, I have also downloaded some demos from these parties, or watched some videos on youtube. But I am not in the demo scene, not enough time to do anything good. If you want to do some #atari8 programming try out coding using DLIs to increase the colour range beyond the offical graphic mode limits. You can achieve quite a lot and many demos use that technique. For add-ons the #side3 and #fujinet
