@teamtoot a big part of Mastodon is its privacy so what’s up with this ?

I am tired of seeing people add tracking on top of a social media platform by default that has none.

@64bithero we are not collecting anything beyond what's needed to operate your account. Email, linked to your preferences and content. Maybe we are being overcautious and we could technically remove this as in fact it's the Mastodon server collecting it, via the app. We will dig in and see why / how other apps can claim to collect nothing, but for the record, we haven't added any tracking. It's an app making calls to a Mastodon API, nothing more.

@64bithero we will investigate and if we can technically remove some of these statements, we will. But to be clear, we require an email address, we show you the content you asked for when you open the app, and we monitor the basic diagnostics.
