New #ttrpg idea. Lycanthrope curse. A member of the party (more than one? ALL of them?) has become cursed to be an unreasoning, feral werebeast of some type. Is this cool? Not exactly. They have it under control and are their old normal selves, at all times, with one exception: when the player who controls them is gone. Every time the player of Ralph (or whomever) misses a session, everyone else starts playing again, but Ralph the PC becomes a ravening let's say werewolf controlled by the GM.
Ralph the werewolf immediately kills, or tries to kill, any hostile or inimical NPCs around, harms other PCs (but doesn't manage to kill them), and then runs off to cause more trouble. When the player returns, Normal Ralph finds his way back to the party, more than half-naked, missing items he'd been carrying, and a werewolf has killed like half a dozen extra NPCs. They were all bad guys, but now the bad guys are going nuts looking for the werewolf.
Everyone in the city or countryside will be following the trails of blood, blaming strangers, hunting the party down. This might help cut down on player absences, I tell you what. #werewolf #lycanthrope #lycanthropy #ttrpg #rpg
