i think it's a good change because on the distros that dont set it to enabled i get quite confused sometimes, but i think the comments complaining about the change are quite funny

if being able to see how many characters a password has is a major security flaw in your workplace, just drag the terminal window slightly out of the screen, enough for that to not be visible. Otherwise, being able to see it is a good usability change for most people 

@Sorro I mean, if a change can be manually reverted (e.g. like turning off AI in Firefox), then it's good for everyone
