Assuming that the #shenanigans in #Iran stay confined -- which is a pretty #flimsy #assumption -- I'm guessing that the #USA plan is to hope that "our #assholes" end up at the top of the heap, and not "their assholes."
I'm also guessing USA was nowhere near exhausting all the #diplomatic options before choosing #violence.
I don't know what this gets #USA, other than cozying up to "our assholes" rather than "their assholes," and further distraction from domestic issues.
And no, I am not interested in responses about #geopolitics and the tortured, fraught history of the #MiddleEast. This makes #USA worse short- and long- term, this makes #Iran worse in the short term and probably in the long term as well. The only people who come out ahead are the #warprofiteers.
If it can't be solved with #violence then apparently it's not worth solving.
This war is illegal. I'm paying for it without consent. But my only way to #withdraw #consent -- refusing to pay taxes -- is itself illegal and gets me punished swiftly and harshly. And yet I don't kill anyone if I do.
Grow a fucking #spine, Congress. The problem is the #BigotedOrangeFascist in #Washington, not some saber-rattling mullah in #Tehran.
