Have any #Blind folks found a way of making the #Zoom #Flatpak accessible with #Orca on #Linux? Unfortunately, the native #Fedora Zoom app has focus traps EVERYWHERE! Alternatively, does anyone know of ways to get around said focus traps in the native Zoom app? Any help would be great. #Accessibility #a11y #BlindMasto #BlindMastodon #BlindFedi
@NoahCarver I had trouble with the Zoom flatpak. I could neither send nor receive audio, but don't recall the focus traps. I gave up and started zooming from the browser. Did you try the Zoom RPM package, available from zoom's web site? You might have better luck. I know the Debian packaged one works pretty well; I'd still rather join meetings from the browser.
@wx1g I am running the RPM package now. Unfortunately, the new Chromium web views cause all kinds of issues and there are focus traps everywhere. It's genuinely awful. A user has to figure out workarounds all over the place to make it barely usable. Wish I still had contacts at Zoom accessibility to complain loudly to about this.
