Hmm.. is there anything etched on the vinyl? Those are Harry Partch-type instruments, and I read the label as saying something like "for music" and "harry partch" (though it's mostly indecipherable).
There's a Harry Partch Institute at the University of Washington that has several of his instruments, and you are located in Seattle, yes? And the figure in the picture is looking out on a verdant green landscape with an overcast sky. Maybe a private pressing from UW?
Ooh. Good clues. Very Harry Partchesque music too.
No etchings. Just the gold marker on the shiny vinyl.
They have a Harry Partch Ensemble at the UW School of Music. This could've been something they released for a concert, or maybe a one-off from students of the program?
It is a good working theory. I would bet a performance master’s or some such. Here are better pictures of the disc - and side A may say “For music” and “Harry Partch” - side B is tougher.
#seattle #UW #HarryPartch - anyone local have ideas.
Sent some pictures to The Harry Partch Institute at UW to see if they have info.
Director of the Harry Partch Institute at UW does not recognize it.
That is difficult to make out.. maybe "by g.h." at the top? or "by g.b."? Seems to be someone's initials. Maybe someone from the Partch ensemble?
They look like they maybe a foreign script to me. Maybe Arabic.
I have bad handwriting, and so I feel like I know it when I see it. That seems like bad handwriting 😄

Stenography ("shorthand") used to be a thing back in the early days of vinyl. It looks like that to me.
Unrelated sidebar, a form of steno script is used as the written form of some Canadian Aboriginal languages

The proprietor of Neptune Records where I purchased it did and found nothing. Otherwise I would have.
