Oooh, my #Merlin #BirdOfTheDay is a California Scrub Jay! Might be the first day I manage to get this achievement!
I was hopeful yesterday since it was a Green Teal and I took Bertie for a walk by the Tualatin River and some wetlands. Not a single duck type avian anywhere!
There were at least a dozen herons here. I’d been looking first at the water’s edge for herons hunting before spotting the first two herons up in the trees to the left of the water in the photo. Then I kept seeing heron after heron!
Back home. Still have yet to see a freaking scrub jay!
Time to put some peanuts on our deck to see if I can lure one in before our gets dark.
