A month ago there was a lot of buzz on the Fediverse about a new Mastodon server set up by prominent journalists: #TheForkiverse.

There was a rush of sign-ups: nearly 10,000 users in a couple of weeks. People new to the Fediverse, willing to try it out.

It's been hard to gauge how active it still is... so this morning I re-downloaded @IceCubesApp so I could browse their local timeline.

I've been liking and replying to recent posts. Just doing my little in making them feel seen and welcome 🤗

@_elena Looks like #TheForkiverse has 3303 active users in the past month out of 9975 and 37424 statuses. Their instance is aware of 15699 other fediverse domains to talk to.
