Respect to Bolt Thrower, but they've never been that compelling to me. Death is the first Death Metal band I ever listened to (Evil Dead) and their sound is so unique.

@HailsandAles Going through my entire Bolt Thrower and Death discography. Fond memories of both Individual Thought Patterns and Mercenary. Death make me feel like I'm standing in an audience looking at skilled musicians playing their instruments, whereas Bolt Thrower succeeds at dragging me into a song and making me imagine I'm there with them on the bloodsoaked battlefield. Gotta go with Bolt Thrower.
