The #228Incident, beginning #ThisDayInHistory in 1947, was a uprising on #Taiwan against corruption and poverty. Repression led to wider revolt, with civilian councils formed to run large parts of the island. Mainland troops arrived on 8 March & killed thousands to regain power.
