Eric Russell was a British SF writer and Astounding Science Fiction regular. A keen follower of Charles Fort, he wove Fortean paranoia into Dreadful Sanctuary, a conspiracy thriller built on Fort's idea that Earth is an asylum for other worlds' lunatics. "Allamagoosa" won the 1955 Hugo. SF Hall of Fame inductee, 2000.
