Hello! And welcome to day 1 of this 2-day game of #JetLagHideAndSeek, London edition! It’s 10:30am GMT, we’re at London Waterloo Station, and it’s time for @leonerd, Wendy the DBJUNGLESKOG and I to Go! Go! Go!

Today, we are hiding somewhere in London. This should be relatively easy, as all three of us are geeks, and #LondonComicCon is on. I have already spotted starfleet officers from at least two separate centuries walking around, as well as someone with an implausibly long scarf. We are allowed to use anything that is on rails to transport us, as well as river busses, and we have an hour to hide in, which gives us a pretty wide area to play in.

At 11:30 @delph and @nall will start at this station, and try to find us. We’re obviously hoping it’s going to take them a couple of days…

Confused as to what this is all about? Don’t know what Jet Lag Hide and Seek is? I’ve put up a primer at https://moof.space/what-is-jetlag

And they’re off! The Seekers have asked if they are closer to a theme park than us, and the answer is yes.

That’s removed a good chunk of the map already… starting strong!

They’ve now started a thermometer.

They decided to do a 1km walk in the general direction of the Savoy, and ended the thermo there. We are colder. This has quartered the map really well…
They asked us for a picture of the platform. Hopefully it doesn’t give too much away…

We’ve had a few questions since then…

The asked for the tallest building from the station, which in the past has been a very useful question.

We have also been asked for a 10km radius centred around Canary Wharf. Which we are inside…

This map is getting smaller, but there is still some game left.

And we have both declared lunch slightly staggered. They have just become active, and we will resume at 13:40…

And a good way of bisecting the river… are we closer to the high speed line than them? (No)

There is tha little sliver of space up by South Woodford that they haven’t eliminated though. Are we up there?

The Jet Lag gods are with us

So we are in a new location. We had to reset our hand of cards, and move to within 20 minutes of playing that card.

The map is also reset as a result. But all the questions that were asked before still count as asked. They could be asked again, but for double the cost.

Anyway, we are within 5km of Lewisham. And this is what the tallest structure in our sight line looks like, right now.

The Seekers have done a quick 400m thermometer, and have bisected the map…
We are in the end game…

And we were found at 17:08!

We could have been found at least 50 minutes earlier, as the Seekers walked straight past us without seeing us!

With an extra 9 minute time bonus, and minus the 20 minutes of the move card, that brings our hiding time to 6 hours and 18 minutes.

We reckon the move card gave us a couple of hours extra time.

It was a good game!

Tomorrow, @nall and @delph will be hiding, and @leonerd and I will be seeking them…

@moof what do you use to make these nice looking maps of the remaining area?
@lily We use this app that is tailored for the game: https://taibeled.github.io/JetLagHideAndSeek/
Map Generator for Jet Lag The Game: Hide and Seek

Automatically generate maps for Jet Lag The Game: Hide and Seek with ease! Simply name the questions and watch the map eliminate hundreds of possibilities in seconds.

@moof we found a matching gate at Greenwich station which would have got us to your station in moments.
@moof @leonerd @delph good luck and have fun!
