After having a horrid week, it was nice to get to the weekend and actually get things working instead of smoking.
I removed the original 3v barrel batteries from the Mac II and replaced them with CR2032 in remote cases which I will stick somewhere inside the case.
The Mac II boots fine, no need to "jumpstart" it. I connected the SCSI HDD but something on the drive went pop so no go there.
I connected an external BlueSCSI to it, found it had 2MB RAM, so I upgraded it to 8MB.
I'll look at running System 7.1 on it with some applications to show off at the Train and Hobby show next month

Also gave the case and keyboard a clean down. I deoxit all the switches on the keyboard as some were having issues unless you pressed the key repeatedly
@declan ok but you absolutely must put B1 and B2 stickers on the batteries.. 🍌
@declan Nice! What display is this?
@nszombie
A Dell P1914S 19" LCD. It seems to work happily with most older computers without complaining about sync issues. It is far easier to move around for testing computers compared to a Sony 17" CRT I have.
@declan yeah I'm in the same boat. Old Apple CRT is starting to break my back :) I like the thin bezel on yours
@declan also perfect aspect ratio for old Macs
@declan Funny, the old batteries still say they were made in “West Germany”. That was the common origin description before the reunification in 1990.

@declan @Cdespinosa Nice machine! Although I have the gut feeling that a Mac II should run System 6.

With some TokenRing network card, connected to some internal services and database retrieval software. Perhaps even a 3270 terminal.

Oh, and WriteNow 2.0. Hypercard 1.2. Canvas 2.
