You're right, It's weird how forgettable this movie is, considering all the "shocking" moments it has in it... Not sure how they accomplished that.

Yeah, unfortunately SLJ is only there to be badass and to Say The Line. SoaP is a technically proficient B-movie, but if they wanted a hit they'da needed better characters. Compare to: First Blood, Die Hard, Stalag 17, The Shining.
