I get a lot of emails about how I can generate more revenue by basically milking my audience as often as possible. Patreon thinks I should "sell the post" because it's getting attention. But... it's available for as little as $1 for Patrons (and you get access to everything else)

Sure, I'd like to make more money from what I do, but I'm not a "gimme all your money" hype-man type of person. Seems that so many people want to build 3rd party apps so that creators can milk their audience in any number of ways so the app can skim just a little off the top.

@gary_alderson I'd really like to do things outside of homelabbing and self-hosting. It's basically all I've done over the last few years and I want to break out of that and find other things to do :)

@dbtechyt 10-4 - i want a truck and elec apprentice jobs, pc repairs, network stuff, scrapping, maybe not a real job (i work pt) but stay busy, get more into self hosting via fiber would be great and possible, i want to serve and saturate 2g but with quality and not just trash, db in memory - i want to go to server platform eventually - even desktop machine with enough memory can get busy and serve up a lot of content

what are you going to do for next era - you must have genl idea

@gary_alderson I have no idea what the "next era" is. I've been trying to come up with something for a while now and keep coming up blank. It's why I finally made this post.

@dbtechyt maybe just get more picky about jobs and learn new things, maybe even certs? i am entertaining those same thoughts
