Great wheels on this Volvo S60👌@autonerdery S80 originally? 🫎 Don't like the plate's asymmetrical placement on the Z4M tho 🇩🇪 Oldest rear wiper ever on a 911? Dirty snow, but not yellow! #GVBC #weirdcarmastodon
@slirt yes, P2 S80, almost certainly! Funny to see wheels move from an older car to a much newer one.

An easy hack for California's front plate requirement is to buy an aftermarket license plate bracket that uses the threaded hole where the towing hook would be screwed in. I'm guessing that's why there's an offset front plate on the BMW.

My 2013 BMW didn't have a front bracket when I bought it, and I've stayed a rebel with my front plate in the trunk because I always thought the offset plate looked funny (and so far have been too cheap to pay dealer price for a real one.)

@donaldham I suspect you are 100% correct; mine is just screwed into the bumper cover, but you can see the tow hook cover where his plate is
@slirt yeah, I get why people use tow hook brackets but it always just sticks out like a sore thumb. It looks too tunerbro for my taste. Also, because bumpers usually sweep up towards the edges (or sometimes down!) you have to choose between having a plate that’s lined up with the bumper, or level. I don’t see that problem so much here on the z4 though.
We just run no front plate. Hardly anyone cares. But I suppose it depends on the community you live in. @autonerdery
