/ USA Rugby Complies With Federal Pressure: New Policy Excludes Trans Women from the Women’s Division. Open for the 🧵. Full article: scrumhalfconnection.com/2026/02/27/u...
/ USA Rugby has released its updated Competition Eligibility Policy. Following federal pressure and USOPC mandates: the sport is now split into three categories: Men’s: Women’s: and Open. The Women’s Division is now strictly limited to athletes assigned female at birth.
/ This is a massive reversal of inclusion. For years: USAR followed the 2015 IOC guidelines. Instead of moving forward to the progressive 2021 IOC Framework: they have retreated to a model that ignores modern sports science and human rights.
/ We believe rugby is for every body. Nothing is more powerful than this community standing together in a collision sport. We refuse to participate in a "separate but equal" structure that targets a vulnerable population of our athletes.
/ We are calling for a "Together or Not at All" strategy. We want every women’s club to register for the Open Division. If we move as a block and the restrictive division stays empty: the policy becomes unworkable. We play together or we don’t play.
/ Take action now: use our email template to message USA Rugby: demand your Union grant blanket Open status for all matches: and post your solidarity. Let’s prove that the huddle belongs to the players: not the politicians. #RugbyForAll #OnePitchForAll
/ Overwhelm the System: Section 3(b) allows USA Rugby to contest an athlete’s gender status. We are calling on allies to turn this rule against itself. Email [email protected] to self-report an eligibility concern regarding your own registration and demand to be investigated.
/ Make the system buckle: If hundreds of athletes force the NGB to verify their records: the administrative cost will become unsustainable. Not registered? Use the 7-day refund window. Register: file your self-report & then request a refund.
