German satirical artist Jacques Tilly has been sued in Russia by Vladimir Putin for defaming the Russian state by making carnival sculptures in Germany — outside Putin's dystopian jurisdiction — so it would be a real shame, if that made us share his artworks and embarrass Putin even further.

@randahl I'd be worried about being mysteriously kidnapped by some random russian, were I that artist. It's happened before :/
@CryogenicIce9@masto - That has happened.

@CryogenicIce9 @randahl

i think if we live in a western democracy and we are worried about making putin cry, then we might as well just give up and join the new super ultra mega soviet union or whatever that imperialist ethnofascist mass murdering shitbag putin is planning

who gives a fuck about russia's threats

that includes it's empty nuclear threats

if we whimper and cry and give into every scowl from the kremlin then we deserve to cease to exist

but we don't, so we won't

fuck cowardice

@benroyce @CryogenicIce9 @randahl if Pussy Riot can make him cry in his borders, so can we on the outside 🩷
@CryogenicIce9 I would, too, but you generally have to be a much more serious threat to the regime to face that threat. It's actually very costly and risky for them to do that, so it's a measure reserved only for the most serious threats -- turncoat spies, that kind of thing. An irritating artist probably doesn't rate. Also, Ptn is unwise, but he's not stupid. He knows that DIRECTLY attacking artists will only result in more artists attacking him, far more than he can go after.
@CryogenicIce9 @randahl don’t travel to Salesbury 🫣
