Having watched the video a 2nd time, I think it does more harm than good. e.g. What does it suggest that this guy is from a long line of enshittificators? That enshittification happend in Neolithic? Or out of the blue? - Disappointing! One subscription less!

For example democracy reduces power over others. That’s protection against enshittification (though usually not perfect).

The main question to ask: do others have power over you that they could abuse to gain more power over you?

If yes, that’s prone to enshittification -- and the ones who enshittify the worst will become the most powerful.

⇒ minimize power over others, minimize hierarchy. You can’t eliminate it on a large scale, but you can reduce it.

@ArneBab Democracy (for whatever this means) does shit. The worst accumulation of power in history happened in democracies in the last 50 years. Same goes for the biggest enshittification making this planet uninhabitable.
But that's exactly the a-political message the above clip helps to spread. Elon, Mark and Jeff are happy about Forbrukerråd's co-operation.

The remit of the Forbrukerråd is to help Norwegian consumers with problems they experience when purchasing/leasing goods and services from companies.

Their remit does not extend to recommending one or another type of economic system.

With this video the Forbrukerråd has given (Norwegian) consumers a word to hang their frustrations on when they encounter yet another example of #enshittification in their digital lives.

Which is the point of this video.

Commercial ones were bad from the beginning, that's not something new. The only difference is there is more awarness this days, educated with some local regulations.

Norway is part of the European Economic Area and has access through this organisation to the EU Single Market. Most of the EU directives are implemented into Norwegian law (eventually).

The presentation, interview with Cory Doctorow and the panel discussion touched on what Norway can do as a small nation but also within the framework of the current data protection regulatory system that the EU provides.
