Something I've been doing for a quick fun; one-inch square design scrap booking. Packaging, wrapping paper, catalogues and postcards are now examined for the designs rather than just being tossed into the recycling bin. These two pages are collections of about two months. #MastoArt#Designs
@paperposts No, it's actually very quick; that's the whole point... When I find something interesting, I put it on my desk, and when I have a spare minute, I punch it out and glue it on the page. Done!
PS. Sign painters (and probably others) refer to their collections of ephemera and inspiration as 'morgue files', and this is such a lovely twist on that.
@blag@tamami i got hooked on ephemera at college when my late tutor Ian Noble introduced me to Jake Tilson’s work. love it ever since, but terrible at organizing it. I have never heard ‘morgue files’ before - marvelous. i’m immediately fantasizing about morgue file archives
@blag they’re great - i have a few of Mark Pawson’s books, he was a king of ephemera for ephemeras sake - i wonder what happened to his archive, hope it’s being well cared for
