BORTAC units were scene attempting to do crowd control wearing night vision goggles and caring battle rifles.
As usual, civilians do NOT like cops dressed like an army.
They too were forced to retreat.
Neighbors who were forced out of their homes by ICE report being first told to evacuate.
But once they got in their car with their SIX children ICE turned their guns on the father and shouted confliting ordrs.
Ultimately ICE threw flashbangs and teargas INSIDE of the family's car whom they had just forced to evacuate.

Again, this video feels like a 2020 documentary.
The father explains that teargas was coming into their home which is why they HAD to evacuate.
Things like this, teargassing civilians who were not attending any protest but instead were literally in their home, likely asleep at the time is a 4th amendment violation.

A blog post from folks who were on the ground last night just got posted.
In it they explain how ICE lost control of the scene and ultimately the crowd affected some dearrests as well as liberation of equipment previously used by ICE.
At least two ICE vehicles were decommissioned, a safe full of guns and ammo were liberated.
Most importantly significant paperwork revealing possibly the names of the murderous ICE crew who shot civilians.
As the aftermath of yet another ICE shooting was playing out on the north of Minneapolis, back near the airport at the Whipple Federal Building feds were quick to push back the peaceful crowd of protesters that has been there almost continuously since the shooting death of Renee Good.

“They threw piss, make sure to write that down!”
Before all hell broke loose last night a group of BORTAC cops were filmed complaining that the only warm welcome they received in Minneapolis was a bottle of urine kindly offered to them by the community.
Anywho, always remember, many protest succeed because at some point the cops won't have the moral to show up to work.

Trump today is defending ICE's actions last night and threatened to invoke the insurrection act.
Trump loyalist have pointed to the fact that US District court choose not to issue an emergency restraining order this week, making the likelihood of US court intervention before the end of the month a fantasy.
Local news station FOX9 had a decent explainer on Trump's threats this morning.

In response to Trump's escalation Minnesota Governor Tim Walz continues to appeal for the public to remain peaceful.
He said the same message in his address last night (which happened before the shooting) and reiterated it again this morning both in writing and by reposting clips from last night's address.
The young man who was shot in the eye by DHS police at point blank range is out of the hospital and gave a brief interview this week.

Meanwhile the chief of police in Minneapolis has taken to the Wall Street Journal to complain about how ICE is making ALL cops look like shit.
Its pretty clear that Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara is afraid that ACAB could apply to his department and is trying to distance his department from ICE's tactics.
Of course despite the fact that his department is frequently protecting ICE agents on the ground.

Here's first hand account of a Minnesotan who was illegally detained by ICE.
She describes ICE taunting and harassing her after arrest. The agents literally don't understand why we have not already been terrified away from protesting.
Take away is that these arrests are illegal, most protesters won't even be charged bc ICE has no legal basis to charge most citizens.

In yet another leak of ICE documents by a disgruntled cop there was reporting from Ken Klippenstein yesterday detailing some of the jailing and interrogation processes which the activist above may have been subjected to.

"Out of your homes into the streets"
That was a popular 2020 chant... I'm seeing the exact same conditions again this morning.
Interview after interview from people last night literally forced out into the street.
Leading to renewd protests on the ground today.
Its feeling like the protest flood gates are opening.
We're at the point now where real estate agents (you know, apolitical people who are adjacent to the ownership class) are detailing their illegal detention at the hands of ICE.
This is about as centrist as America comes, even the lilly white TikTok real estate agents are not safe.
They also know that ICE is an existential threat to their capitalist endevours.

Everyday Americans, like this real estate agent, really want our local politicians and cops to step up and protect their citizens from ICE.
Jacob Frey gave air to these reasonable requests last night, that local cops protect the city, and I think visibly conflicted reaction from Chief Brian O'Hara tells us all we need to know.
The local cops do not look remotely ready to meet this moment.
Back at the Federal Building the crowds are as big as ever there and of course very peaceful given the fascist operation taking place within the building.
Undisciplined ICE cops have been seen attempting to incite the crowd and prove confrontations today by randomly throwing teargas when there is no reason or apparent oder to do so.

Status Coup News interviewed this sweet elderly lady at the local ICE HQ who was teargassed.
She really gives a perspective of the type of person who is NOW getting fed up and willing to put their life on the line to protest ICE.

Early this week I saw community activist begining to raise the alarm about the rising risk of evictions in Minneapolis.
With ICE sntatching people at work or on their way to or from work its pretty clear ICE intends for this to be something of a racist ecnomic embargo.
MPLS Council man Jason Chavez has begun echoing those concerns and is starting to fight for an eviction moratorium in Minneapolis.

Head of CBP Bovino, was seen at the Whipple Federal building this afternoon looking like a tyrant's henchman.
He was gaurded by I guess his personal security. Which if they're trying to not look like a gaggle of undisciplined proud boys this is not helping them beat the charge.
Bovino took to Fox news tonight to complain that not enough local cop resources were going into protecting his operation at the federal building.

As night fell at the federal building tonight protesters on the ground noticed ICE agents coming and going from the facility.
The masked unidentified gunmen pointed their handguns at the crowd as the passed by.

It's happened again!
ICE / CBP has just shot and killed another Minnesotan this morning.
What was his crime? It sounds like he was legal gun owner and random woman being chased by ICE ran in his direction and grabbed ahold of him.
For this they tackled him.
He NEVER drew his weapon!
He did not approach any ICE officer, he didn't appear to wave a gun in his hand or anything like that!
On the ground CBP found he had a gun, took it, then shot him TEN times!
Here's the footage of today's murder by ICE / CBP agents.
In it you can see how EVERY single ICE claim about him being a terrorist or whatever is completely false.
RIP Alex Jeffrey Pretti
Who was Alex Pretti?
First off the last photo of Alex alive shows him holding his phone, bravely filming the police prior to his murder.
In his day-to-day life Alex was an ICU nurse who clearly cared deeply about his community.
ICE's frivolous attempts to slander this upstanding member of his community will not work.
Rest in Power
Alex Pretti

Finally a story out this week about cops protecting a random citizen from an unconstitutional ICE arrest . . .
There's a few... umm interesting details here I couldn't help notice.
Basically the person arrested seems to have been family friends of their local Police Chief in St. Peter. The police chief took it upon himself to contact ICE and directly picked up the kidnapped woman and returned her home personally.
On the one hand, amazing to see the cops finally "standing up" but also I hope you've got friends in high places I guess if you want the constitution enforced.
While I'm more of the ACAB crowd I think @mekkaokereke context both shows how "reformed" this police department is relative to others, but I think that only serves to further underscore the erosion of right's I commented on above.
Where does this put us in the US where the fact is becoming more clear to see... that some people will get a cop who responds and only "observes" ICE or just checks their badge and leaves... all while personal friends of cops get top service.
Cops in St. Peter. Minnesota, intervene in an ICE arrest. ♥️👍🏿 https://www.mprnews.org/story/2026/01/30/st-peter-police-chief-intervenes-prevents-federal-agents-from-arresting-resident St. Peter Minnesota's police scorecard is better than most police departments in the US. There is no racial disparities in killings by St. Peter police, because... St. Peter police haven't killed anyone in the last 13 years.🤷🏿♂️ And St. Peter has a higher percent of Black residents than California. https://policescorecard.org/mn/police-department/st-peter Mayor Shannon Nowell talks about ICE activity and law enforcement from the perspective of protecting the community *from* ICE agents. Police chief Matt Grochaw lists 8 times that his officers have "had to make contact" with ICE agents, and speaks about the impact to community safety and well-being. https://www.southernminn.com/st_peter_herald/news/city-releases-report-on-ice-impact/article_4d1ca22d-575c-4c7f-b541-f7fae920c7dd.html My point: "Racism is just fascism practiced on Black people first" is true. But it has corollaries: "A community that is more resistant to racism, is more resistant to fascism."
Unfortunately, most of America does not live under a police force which gets even as high marks as St Peter MN.
Most of the US is policed by law enforcement leaders who still see no issue at all with ICE killing civilians.
In Minneapolis anytime civilians go an inch further than where the politicians currently are willing to go to stop ICE they are immediately threatened and harassed by local cops.
In videos from Minesota locals this week, they showed how they were harassed by local cops for holding ICE block parties.
Communities are holding block parties in key locations allowing them engage in traffic calming which makes ICE agents uncomfortable about getting out quickly after abductions.
There's several groups posting online about various traffic calming protests in Minneapolis this weekend.
This flier explains the idea for the protest

Meanwhile in other supposedly Blue states the local cops are MORE than happy to simply observe ICE doing obviously illegal shit.
In a case from California this week a US citizen live streamed her illegal arrest all while local cops looked on and did not intervene.

Hot off the presses, the ICE agents who murdered Alex Pretti have been identified as Jesus Ochoa and officer Raymundo Gutierrez. Both are cops with the CBP (customs & border patrol) and according to ProPublica have been named in government documents.
Incredible interview with Minneapolis city councilman Soren Stevenson who lost an eye to a "rubber" bullet shot at him by MPD during the Goerge Floyd protests.
"Truly, I see this as a moment when we are deciding right here in Minneapolis—in this country—are we going to have a democracy going forward, or are we not? The stakes are no greater and no smaller than that."
I reported a month and a day ago on the ICE shooting in Minneapolis of a Venezuelan who luckily survived the encounter.
https://partyon.xyz/@nullagent/115896994205984383
Well this week we got new reporting from the mainstream media indicating that charges in that ICE shooting incident have largely been dropped.
Even the Trump DOJ admitted that the ICE/CBP agents involved lied about the circumstances so much that they have been placed on administrative leave.

The fact ICE hasn't really left Minneapolis seems like it needs repeating lately.
"ICE has trained agents to break the constitution" -Sen. Blumenthal
The long, slow, nagging arm of justice is at least getting some helpful whistle blowers now and US Senator's are working to build consensus to impose reforms on ICE.
See ICE lawyer turned whistleblower, Ryan Schwank's full statement from yesterdays hearing below on youtube 👇🏿
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6TrCEeJW0M
#RyanSchwank #Blumenthal #ICE #CBP #DHS #FuckICE #Trump #MAGA #acab
These hearings are definitely a key step in the right direction to reign in ICE.
Senator Blementhal's opening remarks do a good job to lay out how ICE is now completely breaking the constitution when they break into American's homes.
And tbf the Senators all really knocked it out of the park by providing a platform for ex-ICE employees to speak to the country about how the agency is operating internally.

One key part of Mr. Schwank's testimony is how he describes the pressures inside of ICE to go from hiring+training 500 cops per year to the 3.6k they did in 2025.
This has led to graduating EVERY trainee cop no matter how badly the failed in academic training exercises or preliminary real world patrols.
According to Schwank, legal instructors like him used to be able to fail a student and if the failed exams/training twice they could be kicked out.
The effect of ICE's lawless Minneapolis operations was not last on the lawyer's who testified.
Schwank specifically describes questioning an ICE cop in a different part of the country about their bad behavior during kidnapping operation. The agent plainly states to the lawyer that he saw other ICE agents hurting ppl in Minnesota and felt he should do it too.
ICE is pushing for more prison space to treat thousands of more American residents just like Nurul Amin.
In Pennsylvania governer Josh Shapiro explained earlier today why he can't allow ICE to transform warehouses in his state into concentration camps.
Just logistically alone, ICE would drain local water supplies, clog up one-lane roads and stretch small town 1st responders WELL past their ability to serve the local community.
Anti-ICE protests led by indigenous activists at the Minnesota Whipple Building continues to face opposition from government forces.

This week Minneapolis' liberal mayor, Jacob Frey, VETOED a bill that passed the city council aimed at help everyone & immigrants prevent eviction.
The bill required that landlords negotiate must wait a minimum of 60days prior to evicting a tenant.
For Frey, that bill was not neo-liberal enough. Instead of BROAD tenant protections he wants a means-tested housing assistance program with littles funds that run dry FAST.
https://www.fox9.com/news/minneapolis-eviction-notice-extension-vetoed-march-2026
Minneapolis council member Robin Wonsley whose the first independent Black Socialist to hold a seat on the council decries the neo-liberal bullshit coming from Jacob Frey.

This type of situation is EXACTLY what led me(and 6 friends) to start recall of Seattle's Mayor.
Leftists need to just start recalling these neo-liberals.
Look what happens when they are getting pinched by the fash.
They fight just enough for the cameras to love them... then the second the spot light fades its back to the quote we got from the Kamala/Biden DNC types
"Nothing will fundamentally change"
Neo-liberals literally do not want ANY lasting changes to come from protests.
All of this while the ICE raids are continuing uninterrupted even in MPLS and protesters are still being profoundly patient with these illegal feds.
THIS is the time that neoliberals choose to actively oppose broad improvements to the eviction process???
What options other than escalating protests does Mayor Frey leave people with?
Now here's the really fucked up part.
Ever since spending 2020 learning about housing insecurity from homeless protesters I have always feared that Republicans & Dems would agree on rounding up an jailing the homeless.
By the time of the Grant's Pass in the last 3years it was CLEAR to me that Trump would use ICE to target homeless immigrants... bc who will actually protect the homeless???
Certainly not neo-liberals and their base.
Here comes Frey, FULLY confirming my prediction.
ALSO this week we saw Trump making a move to normalize institutionalizing homeless people for the simple fact of being homeless.
They claim this for veterans, but this literally takes away people's rights to decide on their medical care for the simple fact of housing insecurity existing in their lives.
Watch this, they are building a homeless processing pipeline. Most will end up in jail.
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/11/us/politics/veterans-homeless-guardianship-trump.html
Why is Grants Pass such a big deal for the prison industrial complex?
Simple... the homeless population is roughly the size as the current prison population.
The second you make the homeless arrestable JUST for being homeless you double the demand for prisons OVER NIGHT.
Now here's the hard part for a lot of Democrats to accept.
Jacob Frey has no urgent need to hold his community together because fundamentally ICE is doing the EXACT same type of shit local cops do.
Democrats LOVE funding and supporting local cops and will never touch things like qualified immunity or even oppose dirty cops or dirty departments like ICE.
They all support fascist police tactics.
The heat might be getting to Bovino.
He's rumored to be looking for the exits. If this is true it will likely be one of this inflection points for ICE/CBP goons' moral.
We saw this before in 2020, senior cops will follow orders and harm civilians bc they know there's not -much- accountability.
But if they are close to retirement age they don't even want to deal with the hassle of sham trials and internal investigations.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gregory-bovino-border-patrol-to-retire-sources/

Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino was pulled away from a high-profile role leading immigration raids in major U.S. cities, including Minneapolis, earlier this year.
The humanitarian crisis ICE/CBP are causing by rapidly deporting immigrants who've not been back to their home countries since they were infants.
For many immigrants they're entire support system is in the US and they don't know/have relatives in their home countries.
In the UK things get even stranger. UK citizens who were deported by the US get zero support from the US or UK.
But immigrants deported by the UK get a stipend to smooth their exit from the UK.
In one of the interviews above a man has compounding points where the system has tried to throw him away,
He went to jail as a young man and did more than a decade. He was finally freed and looking forward to the very hard work of rebuilding his life.
Only for what little support he had for getting on the straight-and-narrow to be taken from him by Trump's ICE prioritizing deporting ppl with a record.
He worries this only increases the likelihood of returning to crime to survive.
Responding to police violence with violence will result in losing any chance of building support for general strikes and general strikes is the end game for all of our organizing.
The only way to bring down an authoritarian regime is to remove the support of the pillars that hold it up.
The business community, legal community, educational institutions, etc.
They all depend on us going to work and spending money.
When we stop doing that they'll withdraw their support for the regime.
Without eviction protections or a home... how do you expect Americans who can't afford a surprise $400 bill to engage in a general strike?
Also, Minneapolis already has attempted general strikes.
I only expect those who have the resources or community support necessary to be able to participate to do so.
There are a lot of people who could participate not yet engaged, more than enough to bring down the regime.
The 1 day Minneapolis strike was an early step towards something much larger. March 28th #NoKings3 will be another step, May 1st another with more to come, each building on the earlier work/steps.
No one said it'll be easy or fast. It's going to be hard and long.
That doesn't mean stop putting pressure on Democrats to do a lot better.
Definitely get in the mayor's face to demand an answer to WTF?
Definitely include organizing for homeless rights along with Trans rights, racial justice, etc.
But very few people not already 100% committed are going to join us in non-cooperation if it starts and ends with violence.
Bring down the regime and rebuild with better than the shit we had before.
If the government can build gulags why can't it house the homeless?
