Beautifully stated in last week's @comfortzone from @nileane β€” Paraphrasing:

Who's to blame when children are on TikTok in school all day? The kids, or the tech companies exploiting them?

Obviously the latter, so then why are kids being punished with social media bans, phone bans, and isolation from some legitimately useful technology?

We need to be going after the root problem. Politicians once again trying to put out a fire by looking the other way.

@hen TikTok or otherwise, I'm strongly in favor of providing children with a phone-free childhood. The research is pretty clear that we're robbing kids of the proper developmental environment by introducing phones into their lives before they are developmentally ready to use them responsibly. Beyond that, it seems like an obvious move to remove handheld distraction machines from focused learning environments. I'm not a fan of industrial-scale education, but we have to work with what we have.
