@mvexel @nyurik @bart For some businesses, having someone to yell at when something breaks is worth it.

@ticho @mvexel @nyurik Definitely.

But you know what is even better than someone to yell at when something breaks?

Being able to investigate and fix the problem when something breaks. 😉

@bart @mvexel @nyurik Developers are expensive, yelling at a vendor is cheaper. :)
@ticho oh absolutely. What they are tacitly saying with this is they acknowledge that folks looking for mapping solutions are finding #MapLibre first and then need to be convinced to switch to a product that, with their pivot to a proprietary code base, is literally the raison d’ĂȘtre for MapLibre.
@mvexel @nyurik You know, people should use whatever works best for them! I think overall this is a pretty reasonable comparison.
@mvexel “access to Mapbox's premium tiles” where by “premium” we mean “probably don’t contain the attributes you need”
@richardf that's why you have VIP access to a dedicated MapBox Solutions Engineer: so they can tell you what you can't do, saving you the time and frustration of trawling through developer documentation
