What's the generic name for these "IBM DUAL LINE CORD PDU" thingies?

Aka a PDU that allows you to connect a device that only has one power supply to two different power sources and does an automatic switchover?

There for sure must be something cheaper than these things for 60 Euro, right?

They're a bit more "bare bones" than I was looking for. If I'd go for a "diy" solution then yes. But I was thinking of something similar to the one I linked to from IBM where you can just plug the cables directly in.

But yea doesn't look like there are any others. So either diy with ATS or this IBM thingy it is. But when I went with an ATS I'd probably also need something to phase synchronise and that's all that I wanted to avoid getting into...

@agowa338 welp, searching for just that, now I see what you mean. There are PDUs with an ATS integrated as well that takes care of it all (only heard them referred to like that at work, “ATS” meaning “PDU with ATS”).

@paxswill

Putting a 3rd PDU in probably would be the "enterprise way" I guess. So there probably isn't much else...
